Strategy and Leadership MBA major or minor

Strategy and Leadership majors help define corporate vision and strategy, achieving goals and ensuring the ability to compete globally. Kelley Strategy and Leadership majors have gone on to such companies as McKinsey & Co., Deloitte Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Ernst & Young.

Recommended Academies: Business Operations and Innovation or Consulting

Strategy and Leadership major requirements (12 credit hours)

For Classes 2025 and forward.

You must have at least 12 credit hours total from the course list below. 

Required courses (4.5 credit hours)

  • BUS-D 503 International Business Environments
  • BUS-J 501 Developing Strategic Capabilities
  • BUS-Z 525 Foundations of Leadership

Major electives (4.5-7.5 credit hours)

Select a minimum of 4.5 credits (3 courses) from these 1.5 credit hour courses. A maximum of 3.0 GLOBASE and 1Kelley credit hours may be counted.

General electives (0-3.0 credit hours)

You may select up to two (2) 1.5 credit hour courses outside the Management & Entrepreneurship department, or select additional courses from the list above to complete the major. The following general graduation requirement courses do not qualify as “outside” electives: X505, X507, X515, X516 (outside of Consulting), X541, X542, X543, or X575.

Strategy and Leadership minor requirements (6 credit hours)

A total of at least 6 credit hours are required.
