Support student mental health through the Robert Liu Memorial Fund

The IU Foundation’s Robert Liu Memorial Fund aims to make mental health treatment accessible for every student at Indiana University. Supporting services provided through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) on the Bloomington campus, the fund creates access for groups and individuals to gain strategies that help them thrive.

The Robert Liu Memorial Fund is accomplishing its mission by supporting two outcomes:

  • Marketing WellTrack, a free app based on cognitive behavioral therapy. Through WellTrack, students can track mental health without expenses or long wait times.
  • Providing support for students who cannot afford campus counseling services.

Your donation to the fund honors Rob’s life and memory, promotes mental health awareness in the IU community and beyond, and empowers students to access vital mental health resources when it matters most.

This year, your gift has an even bigger impact—the Liu family is matching up to $2,500 in donations.

About Robert Liu

Robert Liu was a student at the Kelley School of Business and was highly involved in cocurricular and extracurricular university activities. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the Investment Banking Workshop, and the Investment Banking Club. Robert earned several awards in recognition of his achievements, including the Kelley School of Business Myers Scholarship and the Indiana University Excellence Scholarship.

Outside of his achievements, Robert was known for his infectious personality, limitless generosity, and boundless creativity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand in personal, professional, and academic settings and was considered by many in the community to be a friend and mentor.

He was set to begin his senior year and graduate in 2017 but passed away in the summer of 2016 after struggling with mental health issues. Generous contributions to the Liu family from Rob’s friends and mentors were used to create the Robert Liu Memorial Fund.
