The entrepreneurship major and minor are designed for students interested in creating and managing small businesses. The degree focuses on the study of special skills and knowledge needed by entrepreneurs and managers of small- and medium-sized firms. We also partner with the Jacobs School of Music to offer a Bachelor of Science in Music and an Outside Field in Entrepreneurship.

Students with a passion to start their own firm have a number of options including:
- Student Venture Track: Launch your start-up with our resources, mentors, and coaches in a lower risk setting.
- Kelley Corp Track: Gain work experience with start-ups—finance, marketing, operations, supply chain—all majors welcome!
- Hoosier Hatchery, the newly developed student incubator/accelerator for start-ups.
- IDEA Competition, an annual cross-campus competition to surface the very best venture ideas. Winners are invited to have space in the Hoosier Hatchery.

Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Minor
The Undergraduate Program provides complete information about undergraduate degree requirements, including comprehensive information about the curriculum.
This minor is intended for students (nonbusiness majors) who have aspirations and goals in business that will require entrepreneurial and small business management skills. Students who have completed 26 or more credit hours of college work and are admitted to an IU Bloomington school outside the Kelley School of Business may pursue the minor in entrepreneurship. To earn the minor, students must complete 18 credit hours of required courses and one elective.

Bachelor of Science in Music and an Outside Field in Entrepreneurship
The Bachelor of Science in Music with an Outside Field in Entrepreneurship focuses on two major themes:
- innovative career development in music and the arts, and
- an infusion of entrepreneurial thinking for the purpose of generating greater cultural leadership among music students.
A total of 27 credit hours must be completed for the “Outside Field in Entrepreneurship.”
