Student-led programs build leadership skills with a global perspective.
Your career will take you places—and with valuable leadership experience on an international scale before you graduate, you’ll be prepared to work, communicate, and solve problems that span boundaries, languages, and cultures, anywhere in the world. You’ll gain a global perspective through more than coursework—you can opt to add a Certificate in Global Business Achievement, take a summer language workshop, or join the student-run International Business Society. As a second-year at Kelley, you can lead a GLOBASE or EME deployment to gain both a leadership and real international business experience.

“I was very interested in the GLOBASE Program. Having a real-world impact on people’s lives, helping them improve their lives with my business knowledge—it’s been very satisfying and it’s been part of my career from the start.”
Work directly with entrepreneurs and nonprofits in emerging economies in Latin America, Africa, and India, tackling today’s business challenges through the Global Business and Social Enterprise Program (GLOBASE). Students direct GLOBASE, equipped with tools and strategies for their team’s success.
You’ll meet your client on campus, learning about their history, challenges, and long-term goals. After preparing for seven weeks—developing a deep understanding of your client’s local business culture, focused project management, and how to find solutions while working in an environment you’ve never experienced before—you’ll head out for a two-week post in your client’s home country. You’ll get an in-depth understanding of the client’s business operation, meeting vendors and customers, then present your business solution to your client and local leaders.
When the project is complete, you’ll have earned more than credit hours—you’ll have leadership experience on an international project with the potential to change people’s lives forever.
