Linda L. Thiel Memorial Scholarship in Information Systems & Decision Science
Award Description:
This scholarship was made possible by an endowment provided by John E. Thiel in honor of his wife Linda, who passed away in 2000 after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. As an IU graduate and long-time employee of Eli Lilly and Company, Linda Thiel was a pioneer in computerized manufacturing systems, corporate database management, and data telecommunications. She was a groundbreaker and role model for women in information systems as well as for women in business in general. The scholarship is awarded annually to a woman who will be a senior at the Kelley School of Business with a major in the Operations and Decisions Technology area. Recipients are selected based upon work ethic, interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and personality.
