The program was established in 2016 as part of a $20 million gift to Kelley and Indiana University from Conrad Prebys—a proud Kelley alumnus and philanthropist. It supports direct admit first-year students to Kelley who have demonstrated academic excellence. Special consideration is given to underrepresented minority students as well as students with financial challenges and diverse cultural experiences.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must complete the Selective Scholarship Application, which will be provided by the IU Office of Scholarships to eligible applicants.
How to Apply
- Apply to IU, listing business as your intended major.
- Complete the Selective Scholarship Application when the Office of Scholarships provides it to you.
- Gain direct admission to Kelley either automatically or through a review request.
Prebys Scholars requirements
The Conrad Prebys Scholars Program is prestigious. To maintain the scholarship, Prebys Scholars must:
- Complete a minimum course load of 12 credit hours each semester.
- Remain academically meritorious undergraduate business majors in good standing at IU Bloomington.
- Participate fully in all aspects of the Prebys Scholars Program, including extracurricular activities.
About Conrad Prebys, BS'55
Conrad Prebys was a businessman, philanthropist, and Kelley School of Business alumnus. Prebys, who passed away in July 2016, had been president of Progress Construction and Management in San Diego. His $20 million gift to Kelley and Indiana University helped fund Kelley’s Conrad Prebys Career Services Center, an outdoor amphitheater at IU Bloomington, and the Conrad Prebys Scholars Program.
