AFP Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis Workshop

The main benefit of the workshop is that it provides a more generalized career preparation avenue and better support for the majority of our finance majors in their search for attractive employment opportunities. There is keen interest among our corporate finance alums and with the major professional association in the corporate finance area (AFP) in helping Kelley develop this workshop in corporate finance and FP&A. In discussions with corporate practitioners there is an increasing demand for students that have both the financial and business analytics skills that this workshop would offer.

This workshop was created to support Kelley students interested in careers in the Corporate Finance and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) areas. The workshop will also prepare students to take, and successfully pass, the Financial Planning and Analysis Certification (FPAC) offered by the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), the sponsor for the workshop.

In additional to sponsoring the workshop, AFP will be providing the following benefits to workshop students:

Required Pre-Workshop Course:

BUS-F100 Introduction to Careers in Finance and Real Estate

For the Finance/Accounting-Related Portion of the Program (Required)

Role of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP)

The Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) is a 16,000-member professional association devoted to corporate finance and treasury. As the certifying body in treasury and finance, the AFP established and administers the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis Professional (FPAC) credentials, setting the standard of excellence in the profession globally. This workshop is structured to provide participating students with college coursework that would coordinate with the defined topic areas of the Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis Professional (FPAC).
