May 2023 Kelley Senior Send-Off
May graduates will be recognized at one of three Kelley Senior Send-Off ceremonies (IU Bloomington campus locations TBD):
- Thursday, May 4, 2023, 8:30 p.m. ET
- Friday, May 5, 2023, 10:30 a.m. ET
- Friday, May 5, 2023, 7:30 p.m. ET
In February, students will receive a Kelley Senior Send-Off email to register for the event and to rank their ceremony preferences. Due to space constraints, a student's top choice can't be guaranteed. More information will be provided directly to Kelley students via their IU email.
Expected timeline:
October 15, 2022: Deadline to apply for spring graduation
February 1, 2023: Senior Send-Off registration opens; students share ceremony preferences and number of guests attending
March 1, 2023: Senior Send-Off registration closes
March 15, 2023: Students informed of Senior Send-Off ceremony time and location
April 24 through May 1, 2023: Senior Send-Off tickets distributed to students
IU Undergraduate Commencement is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m. ET at Memorial Stadium.
December 2022 Kelley Senior Send-Off

For December graduates, Kelley Senior Send-Off takes place on the Thursday before Winter Commencement. Interim Dean Ashok “Ash” Soni will address the graduating class, and each graduating Kelley will take the stage as their name is called in recognition of their accomplishments. Graduates should wear business formal attire (cap and gown are reserved for IU Commencement).
To RSVP: Students who have applied for December graduation will receive an email by Oct. 15 to confirm their participation.
IU Winter Commencement is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 17, at 10 a.m. ET at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

No, but the number of guests you bring helps determine the time slot you receive.
Only students can register to graduate and only students receive communications specific to their event.
If possible, please plan to arrive in Bloomington on Thursday, May 4. Students will be informed of their Kelley Senior Send-Off time and location on March 15.
No. All Kelley Senior Send-Off emails will be delivered to your IU email address.
Kelley Senior Send-Off is a focused recognition event for Kelley School of Business graduates. Each graduating Kelley student's name is read aloud as they greet the dean on stage. IU Commencement celebrates all Indiana University graduates. With thousands of graduates, it is not possible to read their names during the ceremony.
Kelley Senior Send-Off is a formal event and students should wear business formal attire. Suits are not required. Do not bring your cap and gown—those are reserved for IU Commencement.
No. All ceremony details are finalized March 15, 2023. Before ranking your ceremony preferences, please discuss the options with family and friends who want to attend.
Please submit your ADA request with registration. Kelley staff and the IU event team will work together to accommodate the request.
