Degree Requirements

Find out what it takes to earn one of the highest-ranked business degrees in the country.

In fulfilling the requirements of your Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business degree, you’ll take a combination of classes that balance business and economics with liberal arts to acquire a holistic and relevant business education. Your degree will prepare you to meet these Kelley Undergraduate Program learning goals.

To successfully complete the Kelley degree, you must maintain good academic standing with a minimum cumulative program GPA of 2.0 (C) and a minimum 2.0 GPA in your specific business major(s).  Required credit hour totals depend on the year that you matriculated to IU Bloomington (see links to various academic bulletins below).

Your course requirements

Since we are constantly evolving our course requirements to meet the demands of today’s quickly changing market, the year you start at IU Bloomington will determine your exact course requirements.

The Academic Bulletin corresponding to your year of matriculation will inform you of your:

  • Integrative Core (I-Core) prerequisites and required courses
  • Global Foundations Core (G-Core) requirements
  • Kelley Compass course requirements
  • Other courses and credits required for graduation

Note: Your I-Core prerequisites must be completed—each with a grade of C or higher—prior to taking I-Core. Some I-Core prerequisites also have prerequisites or co-requisites.

More information on applying for I-Core >>

The Applications for Summer and Fall I-Core Certification are available February 15th  - March 15th, 2013.

We highly recommend that you meet with your assigned academic advisor every semester to explore and develop your overall educational plans, track your progress, and get assistance on choosing the courses that will best support your academic and career goals.
