Semester Programs
Through our semester programs, you can spend 16 weeks immersed in another culture. See yourself as a business person in a global context, develop your communication and team-building skills, and earn business credit toward your Kelley degree at the same time.
Programs with * indicate the program is an exchange program. Exchange programs involve a special agreement between the Kelley School and other prestigious business schools around the world. As part of this agreement, IU students pay their regular IU tuition for their semester abroad.

Summer Programs
Our summer study abroad programs are perfect for students who keep robust spring and fall semester academic calendars. Summer programs are six to eight weeks long, which means you don’t have to commit to a whole semester away. Some even incorporate internship opportunities!

Global Business Immersion
BUS-X 272
This set of eight-week course options provides an opportunity to dig deeper into country analysis from a business perspective. These courses capitalize on the diversity and expertise of Kelley faculty from all departments. After eight weeks in the classroom, students travel as a group to the country or region emphasized in the course for a seven to nine day study tour. In that country, they participate in relevant site visits while completing the academic parts of the course.

Cross Cultural Management (Kelley in Oxford)
BUS-D 365
Professor Patricia McDougall-Covin teaches this course at Jesus College in Oxford in July 2013. The course will include guest lectures by Oxford faculty and visits to companies based in the London and Oxford areas. The course will count toward the international dimension requirement and can be used as an elective toward the international business major and the management major.

Business in a “Flat” World
BUS-P 256
Offered during the second eight weeks of the spring semester, this three-credit hour course provides an intensive introduction to globalization and emerging economies, with a specific focus on the economy, business, history, and culture of India.
Open only to Direct Admit freshmen, the course culminates with a 10-day trip to India in May. The course can be used as an elective toward the International Business major, the supply chain management major, or the information and process management major.
Admission to the course is competitive, with a maximum of 28 seats available.

Doing Business in China

Your two weeks at Peking University will cover the Chinese economic and political environment, organizational culture and HR management, marketing, and multinational corporate strategy.
It will include a case discussion and debates to engage student participation, as well as interaction with local students and visits to three Beijing-based companies. Tours of cultural sites will also be part of the experience, and will include trips to the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Hutong, and the 2008 Olympic facilities.

Emerging Economies 2013: Chile, China, Ghana
BUS-G 256
The semester-long, three-credit Emerging Economies course includes a required international study tour over spring break. The course focuses on key economies that are transitioning between developing and developed status. For spring 2013, students will be able to choose from Chile, China, and Ghana. Admission is competitive, and accepted students may not be granted their country of choice. BUS-G 256 can be used toward the international dimension requirement and international business elective credit. Scholarships are available for eligible students.

Business Culture in Greece 2013
BUS-X 255
The ability to learn a country’s customs and etiquette is a must in today’s business world. BUS-X 255 will introduce you to the business practices in Greece and immerse you in one of the world’s oldest cultures. The course will be offered the second eight weeks of spring 2013 and will conclude with a 10-day study tour to Athens in May.
It is open to admitted business and LAMP students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and at least sophomore standing. BUS-X 255 can be used toward the international dimension requirement and international business elective credit.
Admission is competitive and will be limited to 20 students.

Sales for Social Impact: Guatemala
BUS-M 355
Offered in the Spring 2013, Sales for Social Impact is a three-credit hour, multi-disciplinary collaboration to develop sustainable solutions and business models for challenging global social issues, with support from 3M Corporation. The course includes an on-site project in rural Guatemala over spring break, where students will assist entrepreneurs with business plans they have developed in class. The course can be used as an elective toward the Marketing major, the Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation major and can be applied to the International Dimension Requirement. Admission is limited to 20 students.
