Accelerate your career trajectory with the Accelerated MS in Information Systems

Build the momentum you need to move into an IT leadership role with two degrees from top programs. The Accelerated Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program is a partnership between the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering and the Kelley School of Business, designed for students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Informatics.

Business-minded IT professionals are in high demand—97% of MSIS students receive job offers before graduation. Through Kelley’s innovative curriculum and experiential learning, students learn to solve real-world business problems with technology.

This expertise is valuable: The average starting salary + signing bonus for MSIS graduates is $87,600, and they are on a trajectory to become managers within five years.

For Accelerated MSIS program requirements, visit the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering website.

How to apply

Students pursuing a BS in Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Intelligent Systems Engineering may apply to the program at any time, from first year (for direct admits) to after graduation, and they must complete the pre-MSIS Business cognate. Seniors may enroll in the summer MSIS Jumpstart program after graduation that will allow them to complete all the prerequisites in just three months.

Jump-start your career

The MS in Information Systems will prepare you for a rewarding career in a rapidly growing field. Bipin Prabhakar, chair of Information Systems Graduate Programs, explains how the MSIS curriculum leads to work-ready students, 97% of whom earn a job offer by graduation.

Description of the video:

00:00.340 --> 00:01.819
- So, the MSIS can be completed

00:01.819 --> 00:04.350
in as little as two semesters.

00:04.350 --> 00:06.070
So, in a sense it can be done

00:06.070 --> 00:08.220
as a fifth-year master's degree

00:08.220 --> 00:11.900
and really two semesters of course work

00:11.900 --> 00:15.030
and you get a tremendous
ROI in your career.

00:15.030 --> 00:18.150
One of the things that
we pride ourselves on

00:18.150 --> 00:21.660
is that we actually create
work-ready students,

00:21.660 --> 00:24.200
so our students are ready
to hit the ground running,

00:24.200 --> 00:25.630
they don't need training

00:25.630 --> 00:28.120
and employers come back to us frequently

00:28.120 --> 00:30.670
and tell us that the level of confidence

00:30.670 --> 00:33.560
that an MSIS graduate brings to the table

00:33.560 --> 00:36.390
of day one on the job is unprecedented.

00:36.390 --> 00:38.270
97% of our students

00:38.270 --> 00:40.550
have a job on the day

00:40.550 --> 00:42.860
that they go through the
commencement exercises

00:42.860 --> 00:44.940
and my challenge really is

00:44.940 --> 00:47.270
that I just don't have enough students

00:47.270 --> 00:49.530
to meet the needs of my customers

00:49.530 --> 00:52.710
who are the corporations
and the consulting companies

00:52.710 --> 00:54.930
that want this talent.

00:54.930 --> 00:58.140
We are making a recording push
for MSIS to get more students

00:58.140 --> 00:59.640
into the program because we have

00:59.640 --> 01:02.860
so many wonderful career opportunities

01:02.860 --> 01:05.020
that are going unfulfilled

01:05.020 --> 01:07.240
because we just don't
have enough graduates.

01:07.240 --> 01:08.910
So, if you are currently a student,

01:08.910 --> 01:10.240
think about this,

01:10.240 --> 01:12.690
one extra year for a total of five years

01:12.690 --> 01:14.490
and you walk out of here with two degrees

01:14.490 --> 01:16.210
including a graduate degree.

01:16.210 --> 01:17.970
All you really need to make it happen

01:17.970 --> 01:19.080
is to plan ahead.

01:19.950 --> 01:23.280
If you do that, five
years, a graduate degree

01:23.280 --> 01:26.110
as well as your undergraduate degree

01:26.110 --> 01:28.290
and that's an asset that's going to create

01:28.290 --> 01:29.940
tremendous momentum in your life.
