Cross-Campus Initiatives

Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Medical Science Innovations (JCEMSI)

Located in the Indiana University Emerging Technology Center (IUETC) in Indianapolis near the IU School of Medicine Complex, this satellite office of the JCEI focuses on the medical life sciences developments being created by the physicians and researchers at the School of Medicine. Through market research and discovery, MBA students within the Entrepreneurial Innovations Lab (EIL) in conjunction with medical science experts, work together to establish the potential commercial viability of the newest medical technologies developed by the medical faculty.

Our primary objective is to bridge the gap between medical research and business opportunities by making business resources more accessible for the researchers.  In support of IU's existing commercialization procedures and its business agent, the Indiana University Emerging Technology Center (IUETC), we assist in developing the rationale and business case for investing additional Indiana University resources.  These necessary resources include applying for patents and/or dedicating space/facilities for business incubation, and evaluating commercial opportunities with private corporations and venture capitalists.
