Spiro has made significant impact in industry and academia. Early in her career, Spiro persevered to be the first female employee in sales at Shell Oil Company—and was extremely successful. While at Kelley, Spiro was instrumental in setting the standard for sales leadership. Her academic peers felt her influence through her encouragement of excellence in research and education, and her students felt it through her insight and teaching. Through Spiro’s leadership, the Kelley School of Business introduced the professional sales major in 2014.
