Business Analytics
Making Things Work Better, Faster, and More Efficiently
Business Analytics is the discipline that makes extensive use of data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and fact-based management to drive decision making. Business Analytics is being used to do everything from solving complex business problems to increasing the efficiencies in hospitals and medical centers to simulating sporting contests.
Our MBA in Business Analytics curriculum is built around data and application modeling. The courses range from tools to applications. Some use Excel for modeling while others use more advanced tools such as SAS, SPSS, and CPLEX. Coursework includes optimization, computer simulation, decision analysis, statistics, predictive modeling, data mining and visualization, applied probabilistic modeling, artificial intelligence, and applications in finance, marketing, supply chain, information systems and economics using these tools.
Several MBA courses in this area are taught by Professor Wayne Winston, internationally recognized as the expert in Excel modeling and the author of the leading textbooks in this area.
Kelley's business analytics programs are consistently ranked among the top public universities, both for graduate and undergraduate programs.
