Description of the video:
The MSF program has a number of things that can help set up students for success in their careers, particularly in their early careers. Personal development, professional development, and network, that's what the MSF offers you.
I think everybody gets something a little bit different out of the MSF and out of Kelley. But for me personally, it was one of the best decisions I've made.
It has been truly a journey of pursuing knowledge as well as preparing yourself for the next step. The Kelley School helps people succeed by connecting them with just an enormous network of professionals in finance all over the country, all over the world.
I think from the alumni's perspective, one of the most rewarding things about this program is connecting with similarly minded young professionals. People coming into the MSF program come from various backgrounds and various skill sets.
Talking and maintaining these connections help you just not only to learn what others have experienced in their lives but also take that learning and apply it to yours to better yourself.
When I was having a trouble finding a job, a Kelley person offered a hint to me that means a lot. I mean, people helped me, so I want to help others as well. That's kind of the IU pipeline. That's the Kelley tradition. We have a culture of giving back and a willingness to pick up the phone or answer any email.
The alumni base is incredibly receptive. The best part about the program and what has remained still from that year has really been the relationships and the friendships.
Kelley will be a part of me forever. And certainly, I do consider it a big family.
The MSF prepares you for long-term success—not just your first job
As you develop your financial expertise, you'll partner with Kelley's exceptional Graduate Career Services to plan your job search strategy and position yourself for roles at top corporations in any industry. And once a Kelley, always a Kelley. You'll receive career support services for the rest of your professional life.

What is an MSF?
A Master of Science in Finance is a graduate degree for obtaining advanced knowledge and skills in the field of finance. It helps students develop expertise in financial theory, analysis, investment, risk management, and other areas. The Kelley MSF combines theory and practical applications. It prepares students for careers in corporate finance, investments, consulting, commercial and investment banking, private equity, and real estate.
Is a Master of Science in Finance (MSF) worth it?
With a mean base salary of $85,028 (including signing bonuses) earned by 2023 graduates, the return on investment for an MSF degree is substantial, especially given the short completion time and financial aid availability. Most students will quickly earn back the cost of their degree.
How long does an MSF degree take?
You can earn Kelley’s residential MSF in less than a year. Full-time students with undergraduate business majors may be able to complete the program in 10 months. Students with nonbusiness majors take the Business Foundations Boot Camp in June and complete the full-time, residential program in 11 months. Students with any educational background may elect to do a summer internship to complete the program in 18 months.
Do I need to be a business major to enroll in the MSF program?
An undergraduate degree in business is not required—or expected. The MSF curriculum complements an undergraduate degree in another field. Areas such as liberal arts, engineering, political science, and economics can benefit from advanced training in finance. The MSF is designed for talented thinkers who solve problems. Top recruiters value the combination of nonbusiness backgrounds and advanced training in finance.
Is previous full-time work experience a requirement?
Many students join our program immediately after completing their undergraduate program, though most have had prior internship experience. If you have not worked in a financial role previously, you should consider our 18-month option which allows you to build your resume by doing a summer internship.
Can I do an internship as part of my MSF Program?
Students with little or no work experience may want to have an internship experience before seeking their post-graduate, full-time position. These students, working with Graduate Career Services, interview for summer internship opportunities and return to Bloomington to complete their degree the following fall.
What is the cost of the MSF degree?
The investment in your education will offer great returns, delivering skills to advance your career from day one. Our tuition rates are competitive, and exceptional candidates may qualify for merit-based financial aid. We offer merit-based graduate assistantships, fellowships, and scholarships.
How will the MSF launch my career?
The Kelley MS in Finance program stands out. It combines comprehensive financial training and a strong emphasis on career development. One of the program's key strengths lies in its flexibility. It allows students to tailor their studies to align with their specific career interests. Students have the freedom to create a customized curriculum tailored to their career aspirations.
