Internships are a critical component of your Kelley MBA journey—and often lead to full-time job offers. You’ll work closely with your Kelley MBA team (career coach, Academy director, faculty, peers) to find the right internship for your career goals and to gain the insights and skills to maximize the opportunity. How much does an MBA internship pay?

How much you earn depends on such factors as industry, function, and location. The median monthly base salary for consulting internships, for example, was $14,000 for the Class of 2025. For the 11.5% of students with consulting internships, monthly salaries ranged from $6,495 to $15,155.

Three more examples:

  • Tech industry (19.2%): The median monthly base salary was $10,000 while salaries ranged from $4,240 to $13,000.
  • Finance and accounting roles/functions (20.5%): The median monthly base salary was $9,353 while salaries ranged from $5,196 to $14,583.
  • Marketing and sales roles/functions (38.5%): The median monthly base salary was $8,170 while salaries ranged from $3,000 to $13,000.
