The 6 credit hour course BUS-X 545 Business Foundations is required for nonbusiness students. All students are required to participate in Management Launch. Learn more about determining resident and nonresident student status on the University Policies website.

Once you are admitted and decide to attend the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, there is a nonrefundable enrollment deposit of $500 USD, regardless of which round you apply in.

Merit-based graduate assistantships are awarded as five-hour or twelve-hour graduate assistant (GA) positions. Students work five or twelve hours a week for a Kelley School department or faculty member.

All admitted students are considered for GA positions—there is no separate application. If awarded an assistantship, you will receive notification via email. Award amounts are based upon your tuition residency status as determined by Indiana University. GAs are paid partially as a tuition waiver and partially as hourly employees for work completed each week.

A limited number of merit-based fellowships are awarded to entering students as departmental aid. All admitted students are considered for fellowships—there is no separate application. If awarded a fellowship, it will be included in your admission letter. The amount of the award and the number of awards vary each year, and the fellowships cover a portion of tuition costs.

For Indiana University students who are graduating with an undergraduate degree from the College of Arts and Sciences, STEM-based scholarships–up to $25,000 for out-of-state students and up to $15,000 for in-state students–are available.

Need-based aid: Federal and private loans and additional scholarships.

Options for all admitted students:

  • FinAid offers comprehensive financial aid, loan, and scholarship information.
  • Search for scholarships on FastWeb.
  • IU's Student Central can help you find resources to help you finance your education at IU. In addition, they provide consumer information about money management and federally mandated disclosures.

Domestic students

  • Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through the online form for US citizens and immigrant permanent residents to apply for the federal Stafford and PLUS loan programs.
  • The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education offers additional information about federal aid available upon completing the FAFSA.

International students

  • International students are eligible for private loans, but expect most private loan companies to require a US citizen or permanent resident to act as a cosigner to secure the loan.
