Gain real-world management experience with a GLOBASE international management consulting project
Master international project management by taking your first steps with GLOBASE
As an Indiana University graduate student, you have a unique perspective and academic expertise to contribute to a GLOBASE team. With clients representing a wide variety of sectors, GLOBASE teams are formed to elevate the strengths and diverse knowledge base of each member and designed for students who are:
- Seeking to gain real-world business experiences
- Looking for a mentor to coach them in management-skill development
- Eager to add their perspective in a team setting
- Ready to collaborate with peers who have previous professional expertise
- Interested to discover how business works in other countries
Where are GLOBASE teams heading in 2025?
Mentors are built in with GLOBASE
You’ll have an opportunity to connect with mentors—students from the Kelley Full-Time MBA program. Many will come to the GLOBASE team with approximately three to seven years of professional experience. Perhaps like you, their undergraduate degree may be in an area outside of business. Some of them are veterans, parents, or teachers. With GLOBASE teams, diversity of experience adds value—including your own.
You can contribute to the team by:
- Prompting your MBA peers to explain how and why they arrive at a particular conclusion
- Challenging business assumptions
- Relating to a client who comes from a nonbusiness background
- Serving as a bridge between your client and your MBA team members
What’s the GLOBASE application process?
An application to participate in GLOBASE is required. The more countries you’re willing to go to, the more likely you’ll be able to secure one of the competitive slots. You may rank your preferences. Selected applicants will interview with GLOBASE student leaders and be placed in teams based on their interests and functional expertise. Funding for MSM students participating in GLOBASE is available.

Two case studies
GLOBASE 2024: Botswana
Partnering with agricultural solutions company
How do appropriate business frameworks impact a company’s success? A GLOBASE Botswana team partnered with three talented engineers using drones to detect plant and animal disease—and who needed business perspective. Together they launched a business model dashboard and a marketing and sales plan. With a newly focused business mindset, the clients have a deepened understanding of a vision for their company, including how to expand their business.
GLOBASE 2024: Argentina
Collaborating with seller of honey-infused products
An artisanal honey and beekeeping business began as a one-woman shop during the pandemic, but its founder struggled to keep track of costs or inventory. A GLOBASE Argentina team provided this client with a basic accounting system to measure her success and plan her inventory. Following GLOBASE, the client hired her first employee and gained certification to sell her products across Argentina.
“On my GLOBASE trip to Argentina, I immediately put into practice skills I learned in my degree program. Through our consulting project, my client gained a basic accounting system; for me, it was an opportunity to trust my instincts, my voice, and what I’m learning at Kelley.”
