Finance Major

The Undergraduate Program provides complete information about undergraduate degree requirements, including comprehensive information about the curriculum. Contact the Kelley Undergraduate Advising Office for the most up-to-date information and to make sure that you are on track to complete needed courses.

How to apply

Degree Requirements

Please note: You must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in finance major courses.

Required Courses (10.5 credit hours)

  • BUS-F 303 Intermediate Investments
  • BUS-F 305 Intermediate Corporate Finance
  • BUS-A 310 Intermediate Financial Reporting and Analysis: A User's Perspective
  • BUS-A 324 Management Accounting for Finance Professionals

Accounting Electives (Choose one)

  • BUS-A 327 Tax Analysis and Applications
  • BUS-A 329 Taxes and Decision Making
  • BUS-A 422 Accounting for Mergers, Acquisitions, and Complex Financial Structures

Finance Electives (Choose 12 credit hours, with at least 6 credit hours at the 400-level)

Corporate Finance Electives

  • BUS-F 307 Working Capital Management
  • BUS-F 402 Corporate Financial Strategy and Governance

Investments Electives

Permitted Substitutions

BUS-A311 + BUS-A312 = BUS-A310 + 3 credits of a 400-level finance elective.

Note: Students who take A311 without A312 still need to complete A310.

BUS-A325 = BUS-A324 + 1 accounting elective
