Several department members have received the Holmes-Cardozo Award, a prestigious national research award given to one person each year by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB). Numerous department members have received Excellence in Research awards from the ALSB for articles that appeared in the American Business Law Journal.
Department members also are authors of some of leading law and ethics books. Professors Arlen Langvardt, Jamie Darin Prenkert, Martin McCrory, and Joshua Perry, along with Professor A. James Barnes (of IU’s O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs) are the authors of Business Law: The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment. This widely used textbook, currently in its sixteenth edition, has always featured IU authors. Professor Perry is also a co-author of Law and Ethics in the Business and Administration of Health Care.
Professor Eric Richards, Professor Emeritus Terry Dworkin, and A. James Barnes are the authors of Law for Business, another widely used textbook now in its thirteenth edition. Professor Richards is also the author of Personal Law and Law for Global Business, and a co-author (with Professor Scott Shackelford) of Legal and Ethical Aspects of International Business. In addition, Professor Shackelford is the author of Managing Cyber Attacks in International Law, Business, and Relations: In Search of Cyber Peace.
Professor Tim Fort’s books include Vision of the Firm, Vignettes on Ethics, and The Diplomat in the Corner Office.
