The center hosts a luncheon in the fall semester in Indianapolis to provide networking between students and the broader real estate community. Each luncheon features a guest speaker focusing on a relevant real estate topic. A career fair follows, with between 20 and 30 real estate companies participating each semester.

The center supports students in attending several case competitions every year in addition to putting on the Stanley E. Hunt Case Series. Competitions include the Cornell International Case Competition hosted by Cornell University in New York, the Eisenberg Real Estate Challenge hosted by the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation in Chicago, and the University Challenge hosted by NAIOP Indiana.

As part of the Commercial Real Estate Workshop (CRW), the center hosts an alumni conference each fall. Students enrolled in the Workshop have the opportunity to attend panel discussions in areas such as brokerage, capital markets, development, entrepreneurship, and private equity. As part of the event, a luncheon is held for Advisory Board members to learn more about the CRW and network with the CRW student members.

At the end of each school year the Center for Real Estate Studies hosts its annual IU Real Estate Alumni & Friends Dinner to celebrate the program's accomplishments for the year. At the dinner the program's outstanding alumni and students are recognized with numerous awards including the prestigious Jeffrey D. Fisher Real Estate Legacy Award and the John C. Snell Kelley-Indianapolis Leadership Award. The IU Real Estate Alumni Network hosts their annual golf outing the following day.
