The Center for Real Estate Studies was established in 1985 by Dr. Jeffrey Fisher to support a variety of research and educational activities in the field of real estate at Indiana University. Now under the direction of Douglas M. McCoy, the center continues to provide support for students majoring in real estate and real estate professionals.
The mission of the Center for Real Estate Studies is to further the excellence of the IU real estate program by:
- Supporting academic excellence
- Facilitating industry involvement
- Encouraging lifelong relationships
- Inspiring impactful service
Located on the beautiful Indiana University campus, the Center for Real Estate Studies strives to provide top-quality educational opportunities that are relevant and that integrate different functional areas. The center builds students’ knowledge and connections through an immersive program that includes the real estate major, the Real Estate Club at IU, the Commercial Real Estate Workshop, the Real Estate Private Equity Program, and numerous case competitions and events aimed at producing a community of outstanding commercial real estate leaders. The program is enriched through the robust participation of our alumni. The center posts announcements of national scholarships and assists students and companies in recruitment activities for both internships and full-time positions. The center also assists alumni in career changes.
