Tuition and Financial Aid

Merit-based graduate assistantships (GA) are awarded as 5-hour or 12-hour appointments. If awarded, you'll work 5 or 12 hours a week for a Kelley School department, a faculty member, or as a teaching assistant. TA positions (instructor of record) are 12 hours a week. Positions vary year to year.

All students are considered for GA positions when you apply to the 3/2 MBA program—there is no separate application. GA amounts are based on your residency status as determined by Indiana University (see chart below). Fee remission is the amount deducted from the cost of tuition for the indicated academic year in the 3/2 program after a GA position is accepted. The stipend is paid as an hourly wage.

Need-based aid: Federal and private loans and additional scholarships

Undergraduate aid: Did you know that undergraduate scholarships like the Dean’s Scholarship and Provost’s Award can often be used for your first year of the 3/2 MBA (your fourth year at IU)? If you have received a financial award that is designated for your senior year, please contact your scholarship provider to check eligibility for your award.

Domestic students

• Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through the online form for U.S. citizens and immigrant permanent residents to apply for the federal Stafford and PLUS loan programs.
• The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education offers additional information about federal aid available upon completing the FAFSA.

International students

• International students are eligible for private loans, but expect most private loan companies to require a US citizen or permanent resident to act as a cosigner to secure the loan.
• The Institute of International Education highlights opportunities for international students interested in studying in the United States, including Fulbright Program information and other scholarship opportunities.

Once admitted into the 3/2 MBA program, students are required to pay an enrollment deposit of $500 to secure a place in the entering class. Upon enrollment, the deposit will be deducted from your first semester bursar bill. The deposit is nonrefundable. If admission is revoked because admission conditions cannot be met, the enrollment deposit will be refunded.

The 3/2 MBA program is open to Kelley undergraduates in accounting and finance. Please apply by December 1 of your junior year.
