Our faculty is actively engaged in research on sustainable consumption and production. Our research encompasses a variety of areas related to sustainable consumption, such as social norms and consumption behavior, eco-labels and brands, and the role of technology in promoting sustainable behavior. On the production side, our faculty investigates topics such as product recalls, sustainable product design, sustainable production, accountability and incentives in supply chains, the circular economy, 3R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle), and emission management strategies.

Sustainable consumption and production also encompass the sustainable use and conservation of water and energy resources. Related research publications are collected under clean water and sanitation and affordable and clean energy.

Our research publications listed below focus on understanding the impact of climate change on firm values and the proactive measures to combat climate change, including management and operations strategies for mitigating emissions, climate policies and agreements, environmental regulations and programs, and climate finance. As reactive measures to combat the impact of climate change on the environment, society, and economy, our research focuses on strengthening resilience to climate-related hazards and natural disasters, which is included in building resilient and inclusive cities and human settlements.

Climate action is closely connected to all other goals. Climate change has far-reaching consequences such as flooding and drought, resulting in the displacement of millions of people and causing poverty, hunger, and lack of access to basic services such as healthcare and education. It also contributes to growing inequalities, stifled economic growth, and can even lead to conflicts.
