Research and Publications
From dispute resolution and critical thinking to business ethics and intellectual property law, our faculty members are top-notch researchers, experts in their fields who publish award-winning books and articles on a wealth of business law topics.
Some of the field’s leading law textbooks were written by our faculty members. Professors Jane Mallor, Thomas Bowers, and Arlen Langvardt, along with A. James Barnes (of IU’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs) are the authors of Business Law: The Ethical, Global, and E-Commerce Environment. This widely used textbook, currently in its thirteenth edition, has always featured IU authors.
Department member Eric Richards, emeritus professor Terry Dworkin, and A. James Barnes are the authors of Law for Business, another widely used business law textbook now in its tenth edition. In addition, Eric Richards is the author of two other textbooks, Personal Law and Law for Global Business. Department member Frona Powell has also authored a textbook, Law and the Environment.
Our department’s current and emeritus faculty members have also published articles in leading law journals, including:
- Business Ethics Quarterly
