Prerequisite Courses

Build a strong foundation for success.

No business background or courses are required for most +Kelley programs because of Jumpstart. Prerequisites are required for admission to the +Kelley MS in Accounting with Data and Analytics.

We provide a summer boot camp, Jumpstart, to prepare you to begin the MS in Finance, MS in Information Systems, and our part-time degree programs.

Offered once a year on the Bloomington campus in June/July, Jumpstart provides a solid foundation for your graduate coursework in business. Jumpstart consists of a 6 credit hour, four-week Business Foundations course for all +Kelley students, with additional modules—for instance, in Information Systems—tailored to your degree program.

Jumpstart is required for all +Kelley students entering the full-time MSIS and MSF programs. +Kelley students entering one of the online Kelley Direct programs have the option to take the Business Foundations course in June/July.

More details regarding Jumpstart registration and payment are sent to applicants after acceptance of the +Kelley admission offer.

Full-Time Option: MS in Accounting with Data and Analytics

Undergraduate degree requirements and prerequisites for the MS in Accounting with Data and Analytics (MSADA) must be completed prior to beginning the +Kelley full-time (MSADA) program. Please review the prerequisite courses. Contact the Graduate Accounting Programs office at acctgrad@indiana.edu in advance of registering to make sure your classes will fulfill the MSADA prerequisites or to discuss your most efficient path to prerequisite completion.

Full-Time Option: MS in Information Systems

Undergraduate degree requirements must be completed no later than mid-May of the year you are applying for the +Kelley full-time MS in Information Systems (MSIS) program. Applicants who have not met the MSIS Core prerequisites must enroll in the Jumpstart program. The full Jumpstart program consists of two 4-week Technology Boot Camps and the 6 credit hour Business Foundations course. Completion satisfies all prerequisites.

With careful planning, you may be able to complete prerequisite courses at your undergraduate university or during the summer of your junior year. Contact the +Kelley program office to discuss your most efficient path to prerequisite completion.
