  6. New Manager's Toolkit

Many people take on new manager roles but very few are truly exceptional because leading people is difficult. You don’t need to leave it to chance. Our experts will put you on the path to being exceptional by showing you how to handle the most common management challenges including establishing credibility and trust, running productive meetings, dealing with rule-breakers and stars, giving constructive feedback, building culture, and evaluating performance.

Become the manager you always wanted to work for

This three-course program isn’t like other management courses. The class segments are short and focused on the practical skills and tools needed by real managers in real organizations—not theories and concepts. Instruction is largely visual, and the goal is for you to leave each course with a set of tools that you can immediately apply in your management context. You can set your own pace and schedule, completing courses in four-week increments.

Earning the Exceptional New Manager’s Toolkit Professional Certificate will prepare you to:

  • Commit to the roles and responsibilities of being a new manager
  • Communicate effectively with your new team
  • Navigate change and manage team dynamics

Make a great first impression. This course is focused on the challenge of taking charge and effectively making the transition from peer to manager while sustaining your own health, well-being, and happiness. You will be introduced to tools that promote building trust, managing your time, delegating work and “keeping score” of how you and your team are doing.

Forget the theories and learn how to handle the real world, day-to-day, moments that face every manager. You will be introduced to tools that enable you to manage different personalities, mediate conflict, lead team meetings, give productive feedback and establish a culture of service and support.

The most effective management starts from the inside—only those who know and can manage themselves will be able to effectively manage others. You will be introduced to tools that help you assess your own style and values, authentically portray who you are, be an effective change agent and seek the joy and peace of mind that comes from personal success in a management role.

Become an exceptional manager

Advance your career with the Exceptional New Manager’s Toolkit Professional Certificate.
