Instructional Consulting and Assessment offers assistance to Kelley faculty of every rank in the areas of course development, teaching effectiveness, learning assessment, and other faculty concerns. Although we support anything pertaining to the school's teaching mission, consultations typically focus on:
- Designing new courses (or revising existing courses), lesson plans, assignments, and assessment
- Solving instructional problems and optimizing the classroom experience for teachers and students
- Serving as a sounding board for instructors wishing to try something new
- Helping to interpret and—if desired—to improve student evaluations of teaching
We also support each of the Kelley School's degree-granting programs in their work to assess student learning as a means of continuously improving curricula, instruction, and student learning.
Finally, we work with many instructors new to the Kelley classroom, i.e., doctoral students in their first year of teaching and tenure-track faculty in their first three years of teaching, to acclimate them to the unique teaching culture of the Kelley School of Business.
