Every year Indiana University joins with Notre Dame, Illinois, and Purdue to organize the annual Wabash River Conference. The unique format of this conference is that a junior faculty member presents their research, then it is discussed by a senior faculty member from a different university, and then all conference participants discuss it. The location of the conference rotates among the four universities. This year it was held at Purdue on August 15–16, 2019.
