Professor Sumudu Watugala is an assistant professor of finance at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Her research interests are in financial intermediation, asset pricing, international finance, asset management, and climate finance. She obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Oxford and her bachelor of science and master of engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Previously, she was a faculty member at the SC Johnson College of Business and the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. Her prior experience includes working at Citadel Investment Group in quantitative research and trading with a focus on volatility arbitrage and derivatives trading. She has conducted research at the Office of Financial Research in the US Department of the Treasury on topics related to financial stability.
