I'm an Associate Professor of Finance at Indiana University as well as a visiting scholar with the FDIC. Prior to starting at Indiana University, I completed my PhD at Duke University and interned with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Board.
I research empirical corporate finance with a focus on two issues: (1) identifying talent in entrepreneurs and managers, and (2) developing debt relief policies for households and firms. This work has been published in the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. In addition to research, I teach a PhD course called Financing Innovation, Labor, and Households, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in Fintech and Machine Learning.
