Laura A. Ginger is Associate Professor Emeritus of Business Law at Indiana University. She received her B.A. summa cum laude in political science from DePauw University and her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School. Before coming to Bloomington in 1984, she practiced law in Indianapolis, first as a narcotics prosecutor and then in private practice, and also taught business law part-time at IUPUI while still practicing law. As a tenure-track faculty member in Bloomington, she has taught regular, honors, and intensive writing courses in business law, and has lectured and published articles on the federal racketeering statute (RICO) and its use against business entities. Professor Ginger has been extensively involved in undergraduate development and education, serving on school, campus, and University committees concerned with student affairs, and as a faculty mentor to freshman, female, and minority students. She has also been extensively involved in faculty governance, serving on the University Faculty Council and its Agenda Committee, and on the Bloomington Faculty Council (BFC) and its Agenda Committee and Nominations Committee, as well as serving as BFC Parliamentarian numerous times. Professor Ginger has received several school-, campus-, and University-level awards for distinguished teaching from students, alumni, and faculty peers, including election to FACET, the Indiana University Faculty Colloquium on Excellence In Teaching.
