BUS-W510 Sustainability Experimental Course
- 7 weeks
- 1 credit
- Prerequisite(s): None
Sustainability - development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs - is more than simply “greening” business. It refers to the difficult challenge of managing the triple bottom line: profit, planet, and people. This class examines (1) what sustainability is, where it comes from, and why it has moved from the fringe to mainstream business; and, (2) what strategies and practices the private sector (firms, entrepreneurs, etc.) and the public sector (governments, international organizations, etc.) are currently using to advance sustainability in the developed and developing worlds.
