The purpose of this course is to introduce graduate business students to transportation strategy planning. Freight transportation strategy planning is a must for all high-level transportation professionals. This class will look at strategy planning from the viewpoint of transportation executives and/or c-level executives and will include real world experiences and projects. The focus of this class will deal with transportation strategic planning, modeling, and forecasting. The course will explore 6 foundations and building blocks of transportation planning. These include: the economy, freight demand, capacity, fluidity/congestion, productivity, and rates and costs.
