BUS-P 254 Introduction to Business Operations Consulting
- 8 weeks
- 1.5 credits
- Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Business Operations Consulting Workshop
This is the first of two courses that comprise the academics of the Business Operations Consulting Workshop. This course engages students in discussions with professors, guest speakers, and peers to discuss topics relevant to business operations and consulting both academically and practically. Using the SCOR model (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return), we explore the various links within supply chain, so that students can better understand supply chain topics, career opportunities, company partners organizations, and the landscape where business operations consulting is applied. Beyond the SCOR model, process improvement and project management are also explored. Additionally, the course aims to support students while they determine their chosen career path through many professional development and career planning activities. The culmination of what is learned throughout the course will be a team case presentation that includes analysis of a real-world situation. An application and interviewing process is required to gain admittance to the workshop and this course.
