BUS-K 547 Design Thinking
- 7 weeks
- 1.5 credits
- Prerequisite(s): None
This course is currently an MBA elective that applies principles of Design Thinking, coming out of schools of art and design, to a wide range of business challenges, including new product development, and service design. In the course students learn the connections between the traditional operations and supply chain approaches to design problems that rely heavily on convergent thinking processes, and design thinking principles that focus on rapid proto-typing, bias for action, and most importantly divergent thinking processes. Students learn and practice design thinking tools that emphasize empathetic human inquiry and infuse traditional approaches with new innovative design thinking approaches.
