BUS-K 529 Cloud-Based Analytics

Corporations and individuals have unprecedented access to data online and at the enterprise level. The ability to access, organize, and visualize this data are critical skills. While there are a multitude of applications available for these tasks, the fundamental skills remain the same across platform. By gaining hands-on experience with the cloud services, and leveraging the most recent analytical features of MS Office, along with additional business intelligence tools, this seven-week course will demonstrate the ability to take large datasets, organize, and visualize them.

The course will focus on generating, organizing, and analyzing data in the cloud (platform as a service). Specifically we will focus on using Microsoft's Office 365 and Power Platform environments. This will allow us to store, create, and analyze data across multiple operating systems and via desktop and cloud environments. Once we have data, wherever it may be stored, we will need to use that data to gain insights and make better decisions. In analyzing and visualizing data, we will begin with MS Excel and move into using Microsoft's Power BI Suite. Both of these can later be integrated and automated using the Power Platform.
