BUS-F 536 Financial Data Analytics

This is the second of a two-course sequence with BUS-S 536. The course covers new data analytical tools including data mining, web scraping, etc. We will use python and related packages such as NumPy, Pandas, Visualization tools, Regular Expressions, among other tools. It teaches you to analyze real-world financial data in a variety of settings. You will learn to apply textual analysis to large documents, optimize investment portfolios, back-test trading strategies, run simulations to value assets, identify sentiment in Google search data, and conduct financial analysis of SEC filings to name some applications. You will develop the skills necessary to both collect and prepare data for analysis.
