This course continues the intense preparation for careers in buy-side roles and investment banking. The course further develops skills relevant to the Private Equity industry and provides experiential learning.
As students evaluate potential investments for the PE Fund, emphasis will be placed on analyzing risk and expected returns and will include the understanding and application of market research, project financing, capital market conditions, securities laws, financial analysis, private asset management, professional ethics, and investor relations. As an interactive real-world experience, a significant portion of the learning in the course will come from the case-based and real-world exposure to Private Equity investment opportunities that students identify and from guest speakers that volunteer to present to the class. A significant portion of the student learning experience will also come from the process of managing the PE Fund, raising capital, and managing investors while learning and complying with applicable securities laws.
