This course introduces the essential elements of investment management to newly admitted sophomores in the Investment Management Workshop. It discusses the various roles encompassed in the field of investment management, including equity and credit research, securities sales and trading, private wealth management, and financial asset management. It also offers professional and behavioral development along with a comprehensive introduction to the technical skills necessary to obtain positions in the field. Students will be assigned upperclassmen mentors with whom they will practice the networking and interview skills presented in the class. On the technical side, the class will focus on the relationship between the macroeconomic environment and asset valuation. It will delve into the core principles of investment analysis and portfolio management. The course prepares students to navigate the complexities of investment decision-making, build meaningful professional relationships, and succeed in interviews for the highly competitive positions in investment management.
