This course is designed to provide undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience by working as volunteer interns with small business clients. Under the guidance and direction of selected graduate student mentors, students will apply theoretical knowledge gained in their academic coursework to solve practical challenges faced by small businesses.
The course emphasizes experiential learning, critical thinking, teamwork, and effective communication skills. Undergraduate participants will apply business principles and logical frameworks to solve business challenges for the clients. By working on a live project for a client, they will experience and gain necessary critical skills in project management, teamwork, client communication, and problem-solving for future career and professional opportunities. Examples of projects may be website construction, workshop on social media, or business plan development.
