BUS-C 272 Global Business Immersion - Business Communications: Thailand

  • Prerequisite(s): BUS-D270?with a grade of C or higher; accepted to application to Global Business Immersion

This eight-week 3.0 credit hour course is designed to extend the knowledge gained in D270 (Global Business Environment) and to provide an international travel experience that will involve company visits and cultural activities Students taking this course are indicating a desire to further their global competency via an in-depth look at one of the world’s most fascinating countries, Thailand. We will approach our learning of doing business in Thailand through the lens of economics, culture, politics, history, and legal forces that have shaped both where Thailand has come from as well as where the future of business lies for Thai and foreign investors. In this course, students will explore business communication styles and customs in Thailand, interact with Thai businesspeople, analyze issues that would affect Thai and foreign companies thinking about investments or expansion in the country and learn how Thai business culture has developed as a result of its history and political framework.
