BUS-A 272 Global Business Immersion - Accounting: Romania: Measuring Performance

• Prerequisite(s): BUS-D 270 with a grade of C or higher, accepted to application to Global Business Immersion

This eight-week 3.0 credit hour course is designed to extend the knowledge gained in D270 (Global Business Environment) and to provide an international travel experience that will involve company visits and cultural activities. Students will be expected to develop an understanding of the following in Romania: historical legacy and geography, business practices, culture and traditions and the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Romania. In addition, the course will familiarize students with the multiplicity of business environments facing managers and corporations who are operating in Romania and the European Union with an emphasis on accounting and finance. At the end of the course students should understand how business decisions are impacted by industry trends, country policies and corporate strategy as well as how these factors may influence the choice of performance metrics used to evaluate the organization and the effectiveness of its decisions.
