BUKD-Z 511 Managing Change in Organizations

Previously offered as BUKD-C 511 Organizational Development and Change.

This course focuses on the key processes of effective organizational change. After taking this course, you will be able to successfully apply evidence-based frameworks and tools to bring about planned change in organizations. Specifically, you will be able to (1) assess an organization’s need and readiness for change, (2) identify appropriate change interventions, (3) initiate change by developing a compelling vision and building leadership competence, (4) implement change by tapping into relationship networks and affording small wins, (5) use enabling practices such as goal setting, employee participation, and fair processes to support implementation, (6) establish transitional structures to facilitate new practices, (7) adjust change progress over time, and (8) institutionalize the change to sustain its effectiveness. Course activities that will help you achieve these learning outcomes include guided self-study, video lectures, the analysis and discussion of business cases, exercises, role plays, presentations, and a simulation.
