Academics and technology

Kelley students use a variety of software applications in their coursework. IU Microsoft 365, including tools like Word, Excel, and Teams, is available to students at no additional cost.

Most applications work on either Windows or macOS, and others can be accessed through a web browser. However, some courses rely heavily on software that is available only in a Windows environment.

Students who use a Mac do not need to purchase a separate Windows laptop. IU provides access to Windows-based software through IUanyWare, allowing students to connect to a Windows computer through a web browser whenever it is needed.

In short, both Windows and Mac laptops work for Kelley coursework, and students will have reliable access to the tools they need throughout the program.

Check out the Indiana University Bloomington official calendar for details on registration deadlines, academic schedules, campus holidays, and more.

Kelley Academic Bulletin Policies & Procedures offers a comprehensive and searchable listing of academic policies.

Will my student need professional attire, including a suit?

For presentations, career networking, case competitions, and more, the Kelley Undergraduate guidelines for attire ensure your student is dressed to represent their best self.

Attire checklist

Comfortable, confidence-boosting, affordable—it’s what Kelleys prioritize when dressing for success. Support your student with at least one of each:

  • Business casual outfit
  • Business professional outfit
  • Items that can be paired in a variety of combinations

Kelley Student Government hosts free professional dress closet events for students to supplement their wardrobe. The event is publicized in the Kelley Insider Newsletter, so be sure to subscribe and watch for announcements.
