The WMW, directed by Professors Gregory Renn and Bob Musumeci, seeks to prepare passionate and determined Kelley finance students for careers in wealth management.

Admitted Workshop members will complete 19.5 credit hours of coursework over their first (sophomore), second (junior), and third (senior) years in the program. 10.5 of these credits overlap with the Kelley finance major and the other 9.0 credits are Workshop-required courses.

First-year students will be provided professional development opportunities such as alumni events, a case competition, Indianapolis, Chicago, and New York firm trips, and the RIA Connections Day. Additionally, members will build key technical and professional skills through weekly Workshop meetings that position them for success in junior summer internships.

During their second year, members will have the opportunity to network with wealth management firms that visit Indiana University and engage directly with the workshop. Members will also continue to strengthen their technical skills, earning certifications in eMoney and Holistiplan.

Third-year members completing their CFP education coursework will become eligible to take the CFP® exam immediately after graduation.

Many successful applicants to the WMW are members of the FPA Club.

The FPA Club is directly correlated with the Financial Planning Association (FPA), a professional membership organization for financial planners. The FPA Club aims to follow in the footsteps of financial planning professionals, exposing students to financial planning concepts and the wealth management industry. Through the FPA Club, students will build confidence in speaking about the market, get prepared to pass the SIE Exam, and gain insight into the Wealth Management Workshop through meeting WMW leaders and members. The FPA Club does not require an application and is open to any student. Whether you're interested in becoming a financial planner, joining the WMW, or simply learning more about finance and investing, the FPA Club is a great place to build your knowledge, expand your network, and develop professionally.
