After roughly 14 years of work and just practicing medicine you need to understand the business of medicine if you're going to be able to make change. And I thought it was important that the clinician voice be heard in discussions about the business of medicine in my institution.

The associations that you build with the students and the people that are in your class and even the professors. Definitely the residencies are one of the most valuable components of the program. When I started this program what I was hoping to gain is the very basics of the language of business. The framing of how do we get to this situation where American healthcare is where it is and then how do you go about trying to fix or improve the situation that it is.

It was a pretty easy decision to choose the Kelley Physician MBA. One, Kelley is a top-tier business school. Two, it was in my backyard at Indiana University. And three, I knew people had gone through the program and they loved it.

I think completing this program and practicing as a physician definitely equips you with knowledge and understanding from a business lens. The Kelley Physician MBA Program has been so enriching to my life from a social aspect, from a professional aspect, and from a personal aspect.
