In our MBA and MS degree programs, you’ll build a strong foundation with a core curriculum created to develop a complete understanding of business fundamentals. Through the core, you will:
- Build skills in key business disciplines
- Work in virtual teams across time zones and around the world, mirroring today’s workplace
- Interact with professors and classmates in a virtual classroom environment that includes:
Web-Based Meetings: Learn in real time from your professors through live class sessions. In these sessions, you’ll discuss concepts and business topics with your peers, and have the opportunity to ask your professors questions about what you’re learning. The weekly sessions are delivered via Zoom, an online meeting platform. Attendance at weekly live course sessions is a requirement for students enrolled in Kelley Direct Programs. Live sessions are typically held one evening per week, per course. You will most often be enrolled in two courses at a time. Live sessions last around an hour and a half and are usually held in the evenings, Eastern Time.
Discussion Forums: As in residential programs, case discussions through Kelley Direct put your MBA skills to a real-world test. Asynchronous discussion forums led by Kelley professors provide you and your peers time to reflect before posting, and the ability to link to current topical events, providing greater depth to the discussion.
Simulations: Work in a team to make business decisions in virtual markets created by your professors. You’ll see the impact of your decisions on both your company and your competitors in real-world business situations.
Interactive Classes: As with our full-time in-residence programs, much of the class work in Kelley Direct is done in teams where you’ll have the opportunity to learn from your high-caliber classmates. You’ll develop basic team skills and work in globally-dispersed virtual teams, a vital skill in today’s global business environment.
Learn by Doing: You'll also have the option to learn by doing through global or domestic immersions. These real-world immersive cultural and consulting experiences allow you to network with businesses across the country and around the world, working on cases for small and medium-sized enterprises as well as Fortune 500 companies.
