    The MS in the Business of Biotechnology and Life Sciences is a great option for early career professionals who have a background in science and want to earn the business skills and industry knowledge to make strategic decisions.

    Whether you want to earn a new role, launch a biotech start-up, or advance in your current position in life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or other related fields, the MS in the Business of Biotech and Life Sciences at Kelley Indianapolis prepares you to merge skills in both business and biotech.

    Application requirements

    When you apply for the MS in the Business of Biotech and Life Sciences, we will consider your:

    Candidates must have a BS or BA in a scientific field from an accredited university with a minimum 3.0 GPA or 1 to 2 years work experience in a life sciences organization.

    Apply to Graduate School at Indiana University by filling out the online application. There is a $70 application fee when you submit your application.

    Work or internship experience is strongly recommended. Please upload your most recent curriculum vitae or résumé through the Program Materials section on the online application, or you may email it directly to kbizmed@iu.edu.

    In 500 words or less, please tell us who you are and why you’re a good fit for this program. Consider framing your personal statement around your professional objectives and how you expect the MS in the Business of Biotech and Life Sciences will contribute to these goals.

    You can upload your personal statement through the Program Materials section on the online application, or you may email it directly to kbizbio@iu.edu.

    Please list three contacts from whom we will request letters of recommendation. We encourage you to include one letter from science faculty.

    These letters tell us more about your character, judgment, achievements, potential for success in our program, and ways in which you have shown leadership and collaboration. Consider references who might speak best to your professional qualifications and leadership potential, such as an employer, colleague, or supervisor who is not related to you.

    Submit the three letters in the Program Materials section of the online application.

    Tuition and financial aid

    Tuition in the MS in the Business of Biotech and Life Sciences Program is $850 per credit hour, or $25,500 for the 30 credit hour program. This is the rate for in-state, out-of-state, and international students.

    Many Kelley students are supported in their studies through tuition benefits from their employer. 

    If you are funding your own degree, you may also consider using the federal student loan program. Domestic students can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
