This required application form is free to complete and provides Kelley Online with background and contact information.
This is the first required step. However, the following items can be completed in any order. Review of your application will not begin until all items have been received.
To apply for the online MS in IT Management, you must complete two distinct application forms. Once you complete the Kelley Online Programs Application, you will be emailed a link to complete the Indiana University Graduate School Application form. This form has several elements that you will submit.
- A personal statement. Containing no more than 500 words, the statement should address:
- Academic Goals
- Career Goals
- Why you are a strong candidate for admission
- A current professional resume
- Contact information for one (1) recommender
- Your recommender will receive an email link to complete a questionnaire. They have option to also upload a formal recommendation letter. However, the letter is not required.
- Your recommender does not have to be your current supervisor. However, it should be someone who can has witnessed your professional accomplishments and potential for long-term career success.
Applicants with at least two years of full-time, post-bachelor’s degree professional experience and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher will automatically be waived of test score requirements. The GMAT or GRE may also be waived upon successful completion of the three MicroMasters courses that are part of the degree for which you are applying. All other applicants will be expected to submit a GMAT or GRE score as part of their application materials.
There is no preference on which test score to submit. Please see directions below for how to submit official scores.
GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)
- Register to take the GMAT.
- Have your official score sent to us: Select Indiana University, Kelley Direct Program. Don't select Kelley School of Business—that is for our residential Full-Time MBA program.
- GMAC will send us your official score.
GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
- Register to take the GRE.
- Have your official score sent to us: Select Indiana U, school code 1324.
- ETS will send us your official score.
If English is not your first language and you do not have a bachelor's degree or higher that was taught in English, you will need to take the TOEFL or IELTS. We accept either test score.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
- Register to take the TOEFL.
- Have your official score sent to us: Select Indiana University, code 1324/99.
- TOEFL will send us your official score.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
- Register to take the IELTS.

Credentials from US Institutions
Contact all colleges or universities you have attended to request your official academic records (transcripts) be emailed directly to us or mailed via postal mail.
Electronic Transcripts (E-Transcripts)
Electronic transcripts are the preferred method of delivery. Please utilize edxksb@indiana.edu as the email recipient of your official electronic transcripts.
Note: We cannot accept scanned/printed copies, attachments, or forwarded emails.

Postal Mail: US Citizens and Permanent Residents with Foreign Transcripts
US citizens and permanent residents with international transcripts must send official transcripts directly to the Kelley–edX program office and may also be required to submit an official academic credential evaluation to verify degree and GPA requirements. You will be contacted by our office should we require a credential evaluation. International Applicants
If you are an international applicant (you are NOT a US citizen or permanent resident), please have your transcripts and degree certifications sent directly to the Office of International Services (OIS) for review. Your transcripts must be in English—arrange for a literal translation to be sent if needed. The Office of International Services does not accept evaluations from external academic credential evaluation agencies in lieu of original academic records.

You can upload scanned copies of your transcripts, which will be considered as unofficial academic records. We will use the unofficial documents to review the application while you arrange to send official transcripts to OIS.
Important note: Please submit the Indiana University Graduate School Application (step two of the application process listed above) before you send your transcripts to OIS to ensure the most efficient processing of your documents.

No time for the official TOEFL or IELTS score?
If you are less than 30 days from your application deadline, fax or mail us your unofficial score while we wait for the official TOEFL or IELTS version.
Do not mail materials to the IU Office of International Services. Please send your exam scores to the Kelley Direct Program Office.
Minimum scores: We require a minimum internet-based TOEFL score of 100; 600 on the paper-based TOEFL; or band 7.0 on the IELTS.
Note: We cannot accept TOEFL or IELTS scores that are more than two years old.
Waiver of the TOEFL or IELTS requirement: The TOEFL or IELTS requirement is automatically waived for international applicants who have completed a college or university degree in the United States.
After you start your application, the above items and forms can be submitted in any order. Review of your application will not take place until all items are received. Our admissions team will track your status and provide reminders for outstanding items.
When will I be notified of an admission decision?
Once all items are received, we begin our review process. Typically, students are notified of their admissions decision within 2–3 weeks.

Program start dates
Applications to the MS in IT Management programs are accepted on a rolling basis.
Tuition and fees
The total cost of the MS program in IT Management is approximately $21,000.
- MicroMasters® program courses: $1,497 (nine credits applied to full master’s degree)
- Admitted student master’s only courses: $19,500 (21 credits at approximately $930/credit hour)
There are no scholarships provided to students in these degree programs.
MicroMasters Program and application timeline
The MicroMasters® Program comprises the first three courses of the 10 courses required for the full master’s degree. Any student can register and complete the MicroMasters® Program courses, regardless of the application process. The application can be completed before, during, or after completion of the MicroMasters Program. However, to complete the full degree and take the remaining seven courses, students must be fully applied and admitted to the master’s program.
